How the Second Half Network platform may be used, and how we handle your information. Please read this before you join.
By requesting an account, creating an account, or using the Second Half Network platform, operated by Second Half Network LLC (“Second Half Network,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Second Half Network is a private, invite-only network for student-athletes and approved mentors. Access is granted to you personally. You may not transfer, share, or sell your access to anyone else.
The Second Half Network platform, including its member area, features, workflows, the matching process, all mentor and student-athlete information, and the way the program operates, is confidential and proprietary. It is our trade secret and the core of our business.
You agree that you will not:
These confidentiality obligations continue even after you stop using the platform.
Use the platform only for its intended purpose: connecting for mentorship. Do not misuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it. Treat every member with professionalism and respect.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe someone else has used it.
Second Half Network introduces student-athletes and mentors and provides tools to support those conversations. We are not a party to the mentoring relationship itself. Mentors are independent volunteers, not our employees or agents, and we do not control, supervise, direct, or endorse the advice, introductions, opportunities, or conduct of any member. Any decision you make based on the platform or a mentorship, including career, academic, financial, or personal decisions, is your own. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk.
Nothing on the platform or shared through a mentorship is legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice, and nothing is a promise of any internship, job, offer, or other outcome. For advice specific to your situation, consult a licensed professional.
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any result or outcome will be achieved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Half Network LLC and its founders, owners, operators, employees, volunteers, mentors, partners, and affiliates (the “Released Parties”) will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of opportunities, profits, data, reputation, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the platform, any mentorship, any interaction with another member, or these terms, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and even if a Released Party has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent any liability cannot be fully excluded, the total combined liability of the Released Parties for all claims relating to the platform will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You release the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, or disputes, known or unknown, arising out of or connected to your use of the platform, your interactions with any member, or any mentorship. You also agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim, demand, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, brought by a third party and arising out of your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these terms or of any law or the rights of another.
We may update these terms and may suspend or remove access for anyone who violates them. If you keep using the platform after an update, that means you accept the change.
The information you give us (your name, school email, university, sport, class year, optional LinkedIn, and your resume and about-me documents) and the basic usage information we need to run the platform.
Only to operate the mentorship program: to set up your account, match student-athletes with mentors, and support those relationships.
We do not sell your information. Your name and private details never appear on the public website, and your uploaded documents are never served publicly.
Your profile and documents are visible only to mentors you apply to and to program administrators, through a secure, sign-in-only link.
This is a working version of our terms and may be updated as the program grows.
